I think God just ask that we consistently show up and do our best in sincerity. It doesn’t really matter what it feels like, when we get distracted we begin again- thats where the virtue is at. Your doing great xx loved the visuals of your writing too. X

So true. I'm trying to break free from the unrelenting standards I have for myself. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Oh Patty, I can relate! I’ve found what works for me is to start with a worship song, listen to a guided meditation, and then linger in His presence. It kind of steps me into the prayer mode and then I’m fully present. Thanks for sharing!

Thank YOU for sharing! I've never tried guided meditation. What do you use? I'd like to check it out. Thanks for commenting!

Patty, I use both Lectio 365 and John Eldridge’s Pause app, which I really love!

I found out I pray best when I first wake up in bed. Fantastic prayers that I don’t drift all over the place. All though i am at peace so well I sometimes fall asleep for an extra hour after the prayers.

You must wake up quickly. I've tried that and it's even worse because I'm so groggy. It's funny how different we all are, but I'm glad that works for you. Maybe it will help someone who reads this. Thank you.

Well, it is somewhat of a relief to find I am not alone in this type of a prayer life. I too over the years have found writing out my prayers to God have allowed me to not only stay focused, but to also be more expressive. I think for sooooo many years we were "told" how we should be. I love your heading that "God did not call you be Todd". Not imitating someone (I have finally unlearned that bad lesson) is not unbiblical or dare we say sinful. The common phrase of today suits me "you do you" as long as it isn't in a sinful way. Thank you for yet another great example of how our walks can be different from one another. But that there are so many of us that walk similar paths.
